The Grand Lake Oakfield Community has a long history of bringing people together.  The Community Hall, formerly the school house where many current residents parents and grandparents went to school, was given to the Grand Lake  Society on September 5, 1964.  Since then, caring community members have engaged residents of all ages in events at the hall and around the community to bring neighbors together.

The hall also serves as a local fire department, served by committed volunteers.
